After making over 1000 masks (the first 600 of which were donated), I've got this design down to a science. These masks hold their shape away from the mouth and nose, and the thick aluminum nose wire shapes the mask snugly against the face, preventing the fogging of glasses. The inside layer is made from soft 400 thread count cotton sheets and is breathable and super comfortable against the skin. The outside layer is made of 100% cotton quilting fabric. In the 3-ply version, the middle layer is a nonwoven polypropylene.
Tabs are sewn into the side for easy use with a shoelace or ribbon to convert to a head strap style. The ear elastic is made of ultra soft easy stretch elastic that is gentle on the ears.
Masks are machine washable, and can either be tumbled dry on low or air dried.

Note- 3-layer is my personal preference since it holds its shape better and offers the additional layer of protection

Choose a second fabric as trim for an additional $3. Please indicate which fabric you want for the main fabric and which is the trim when ordering.

You can have any mask made with 100% knit cotton (soft t-shirt material) on the inside layer instead of the 400 thread count sheets for an extra $3 per mask. Please note that while softer, this fabric is slightly warmer against the skin.

An XL size is available for an extra $1 per mask. Adult-sized masks use a 7.5" x 9.25" template while the XL uses a 9" x 10.25" template.

If you'd like a shoelace included in your order to be used as a head strap, please just ask. No extra charge, but the color will be random.

Note that these masks are not medical grade, nor are they a substitute for N95 masks. They do meet and/or exceed the CDC's recommendations for homemade cloth masks. From the CDC's website:
"Masks with at least 2 layers of fabric are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings."

CDC recommends that people wear masks in public and when around people who don’t live in your household.

Masks should NOT be worn by children under age 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
